Breast

Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty)
Breast augmentation is a very popular procedure for women and among the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures. A saline-filled implant is inserted under the crease in the breast, around the nipple or through the armpit.  The implant can be placed under the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle.  After surgery, breasts will appear "fuller" and more shapely in contour.  Incision scars will fade or disappear over time.

In certain unique instances silicon implants can be used.

We use advanced pain management techniques which can greatly reduce and sometimes eliminate the postoperative pain that can sometimes be associated with this surgery. Many of our patients do not need to use any narcotic pain medications, thus avoiding the potential side effects of those drugs, and enjoying a quicker and more pleasant recovery.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Over time, the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin's natural elasticity begins to have a negative impact on the appearance of a woman's breasts.  These factors, combined with pregnancies and nursing will often cause the breasts to lose their youthful shape and firmness.

A breastlift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts.  The procedure can also reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple).  Breast implants inserted in conjunction with a mastopexy procedure can increase both firmness and size.

Facelift
(Rhytidectomy)
Over time, the long-term effects of gravity, exposure to sun, dry air, and general stress takes its toll on an individual's face and neckline.  Jowls can develop under the jawline with folds and fat deposits.  Sometimes creases begin to form between the nose and the mouth.

A facelift can considerably reduce these signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening the underlying muscles, and redraping the skin around the neck and face.  Facelifts can be done alone, or frequently performed in conjunction with another procedure such as a browlift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.  If your problem areas are limited to the neck, a more conservative procedure, known as a "necklift" will be recommended.  In some cases, a facelift can reduce the outward signs of aging by ten or fifteen years.

Upper & Lower Eye Lid Surgery
(Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids.  The procedure can correct drooping upper lids that tend to sag with time and the puffy bags below the eyes.   Blepharoplasty can be done as a single procedure, or in conjunction with other facial surgery such as a facelift or a browlift.

Nose Reshaping
(Rhinoplasty)
Surgery to reshape the nose, (rhinoplasty) is among the most common plastic surgery procedures.  This procedure can reduce or increase the size of the nose, remove an unwanted hump, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the width of the nostrils, or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip.  The procedure restores an improved balance between the nose and other facial features. We take great care to achieve a natural result and to avoid the “surgical” look.

Body Contouring

Liposuction
(Lipoplasy / Suction Lipectomy)
Now among the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, liposuction (also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy") sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat from areas around the thighs, knees, buttocks, waist, hips, abdomen, chin, cheeks, neck and upper arms.

For some areas that are more difficult to treat, such as the back, flanks, male breasts, and others, we sometimes utilize an Ultrasound-Assisted technique (UAL) which helps break down and emulsify the fat tissue, helping to achieve better results.

Liposuction is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise, but the procedure can eliminate areas of fat that are unresponsive to typical weight-loss methods, and improve body contour.

Tummy Tuck
(Abdominoplasty)
Generally referred to as a "tummy tuck", abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen.

The procedure helps to improve the contour of the abdomen and to narrow the waist by tightening the abdominal muscles.  Women, with stretched abdominal areas due to previous pregnancies, can benefit considerably from abdominoplasty.  Other individuals whose skin has lost some of its elasticity and are slightly obese can experience an improvement in their abdominal area.

Injectable Fillers

Fat Injections have become the mainstay of soft tissue augmentation for most plastic surgeons and dermatologists. For most people, a large amount of fat is readily available.  Since it is the patient's own tissue used in the technique, the results are not only excellent in the short term, but have proven to be extremely long lasting.  One of the most dramatic areas that this procedure can be used is in lip enlargement.

Restylane is an injectable material that improves the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines in both men and women.  Restylane contains hyaluronic acid, a material that is produced naturally in the body. It is not extracted from animals and therefore requires no pre-testing. The improved youthful look that Restylane provides lasts from three to six months.

Radiance is an injectable filler that is gaining great appeal in the facial filler market.  It is currently not FDA approved as a facial filler though its official label use is growing.  It is FDA approved for use in laryngeal augmentation. It is a hydroxyapatite-based formulation, which is the material in bones. Radiance lasts at least eighteen months.

Collagen is a protein found in the second layer of skin know as the dermis.  It is injected under the dermis layer to add fullness to areas of the face such as the lips, cheeks and forehead. This treatment began over fifteen years ago and has been highly successful for short-term use in fine lines and cracks around the mouth and chin. Patients return every 3-6 months for maintenance treatments.  The procedure is done in a regular office visit. Since Collagen is an animal based derivative, tests may be performed to determine if any allergy exists.
